The Ranch RV Park

ABOUT US

The Ranch RV Park, situated just north of Rochfort Bridge in Alberta, has a rich history attached to the land.

In 1907, a man from Kansas, Raymond Shuck, homesteaded in the Rochfort area.  Over the years, Raymond built up a large cattle ranch which stayed in the Shuck Family until 1974 when my father, Ed Weinrich, bought the ranch.

As a teen-age boy, I moved to Canada with my parents and older brother. Life was significantly different than the family farm in Washington State. We had to adapt to the harsh winters, feeding cattle 7 months of the year, plus many new challenges. Yet life in Alberta has been tremendously rewarding.

We have spent a few years here and there but Rochfort has been home where we have raised our 5 children. As the empty nester chapters began, my wife, Jan, and I pursued a new course concerning the ranch..

Where once cattle grazed and hay was put up, this pristine land situated by our lake is now being developed into an RV Park.

For years my wife and I have enjoyed the natural beauty and serenity of this spot. Jan always had a pair of binoculars by the window in our home that overlooked our small lake. The arrival of geese and swans were always noted, and dreaming up a way to share our quiet piece of solitude brought us many happy memories. Jan passed away unexpectedly in 2022 after a cancer diagnosis in 2021. The Ranch Rv Park now serves as a reminder of how much she enjoyed this place, and we honour her legacy by sharing with others the opportunity to enjoy the waterfowl and wildlife in a quiet country camp setting.

Currently, we are offering 64 fully serviced seasonal lots. We are only an hour and twenty minutes from Edmonton, and forty minutes from Whitecourt. Feel free to call for an appointment to come by for a visit.

We hope to see you back at The Ranch!
